Licking County Concrete & Paving

Concrete & Asphalt
Built for Ohio Winters

Driveways, patios, walkways, and paving — residential and commercial. We build to handle Licking County's freeze-thaw cycles, not just look good the first summer. Serving Newark, Heath, Granville, Pataskala, and all of Licking County.

Poured Right.
Built to Last.

We pour concrete and lay asphalt across Licking County. That means compacted ODOT 304 gravel base under every slab and driveway, control joints cut at the correct spacing to manage cracking, and paving scheduled around Ohio's actual weather windows instead of a sales calendar. "In our experience with Licking County properties, the single biggest predictor of a driveway failing early isn't the concrete or asphalt mix — it's the base underneath it. We see driveways poured directly over topsoil or old crumbled asphalt all the time, and they crack within two winters. We excavate to proper depth and compact the base before anything gets poured, every time."

Concrete & Paving Questions — Answered

We hear a lot of the same questions from homeowners and business owners across Newark, Heath, Granville, Pataskala, and the rest of Licking County.

A standard single-car concrete driveway runs $3,500–$7,000, and a two-car driveway typically runs $7,000–$14,000, depending on square footage, base preparation, and finish (broom, exposed aggregate, or stamped). See our full Licking County driveway cost guide for a detailed breakdown. We provide free, itemized written estimates — call us at (740) 527-8484.
Asphalt driveways typically run $3,000–$8,000 for a standard residential drive, depending on square footage, base depth, and existing subgrade condition. Commercial paving is priced per square foot based on required base and binder thickness for the expected traffic load.
Both perform well here when installed correctly. Asphalt costs less upfront and flexes with freeze-thaw movement; concrete costs more but lasts longer and offers decorative finish options. See our full concrete vs. asphalt comparison for the honest breakdown by budget, lifespan, and maintenance.
Requirements vary by township and municipality — Newark, Heath, Granville, Pataskala, Hebron, and Johnstown each handle right-of-way and apron permits a little differently. We check what's required for your specific address and handle the application as part of the project.
Concrete is typically safe for foot traffic after 24–48 hours and safe for vehicle traffic after about 7 days, though full design strength isn't reached until roughly 28 days. We recommend avoiding deicing salt on a new driveway through its first winter.
We recommend sealcoating new asphalt about 6–12 months after installation, then every 2–3 years after that. Regular sealcoating is the single biggest factor in how long an asphalt surface lasts in Ohio's freeze-thaw climate. See our asphalt repair & sealcoating page for more detail.
