Get Free EstimateOhio's freeze-thaw cycle is hard on concrete. Water gets into hairline cracks, freezes, expands, and widens the crack a little more every winter. Add settling from a base that wasn't compacted properly to begin with, and a 15–25 year old driveway or walkway in Licking County often shows real damage — heaved slabs, spalling surfaces, and cracks wide enough to catch a mower wheel.
We inspect before we quote anything. If the base and framing of the slab are still sound, crack repair, joint resealing, or a resurfacing overlay can extend its life significantly for a fraction of replacement cost. If the base has failed or multiple panels have settled unevenly, resurfacing just masks a problem that will resurface within a season or two — at that point we recommend full replacement and tell you why.
"In our experience, about half the 'my driveway is cracking' calls we get in Licking County turn out to be legitimate repair candidates, and about half need full replacement once we get eyes on the base. The tell is usually whether the cracks are isolated to expansion joints and surface-level, or whether there's real elevation change between panels. We walk you through which one you've got before you spend a dollar."
Repair is often the first step in a bigger decision. Here's what else Licking County property owners consider alongside it.
