Licking County Concrete & Paving

Concrete Patios & Walkways

Backyard patios, front walkways, and sidewalk replacement — poured and finished to match your home and hold up to Ohio's climate.

Patios & Walkways That Fit Your Property

A concrete patio or walkway gets poured over the same properly compacted base as a driveway, just at a lighter design load, and it's usually a faster project — most standard patios and walkways are formed and poured in a single day, with a few more days for cure before furniture goes back on it.

We pour standard broom-finish for a clean, practical look, or step up to exposed aggregate or a stamped pattern for a more finished appearance. In neighborhoods with brick streets and older character — Granville in particular — we often recommend a stamped or stained finish that complements the existing streetscape rather than a plain gray slab.

"A lot of walkway calls we get in Licking County aren't new installs — they're replacing an old slab that's heaved a couple inches at one joint and become a trip hazard. If the rest of the walkway is solid, we can usually replace just the affected section rather than tearing out the whole thing. We tell people honestly when a partial fix will hold and when it won't."
  • Poured over compacted gravel base, same standard as driveways
  • Broom, exposed aggregate, or stamped finish options
  • Sidewalk section replacement for isolated trip hazards
  • Typically a 1-day pour on standard residential patios

Most standard residential patios are excavated, formed, and poured within a single day. Depending on weather, we recommend keeping furniture off it for about a week while it gains enough strength.
In most cases, yes — we can match finish style and, with stamped or stained concrete, get close on color. New concrete will never be an exact match to older, weathered concrete, but we can get it close enough that it reads as intentional.
It depends on the condition of the rest of the walkway. If the surrounding sections are structurally sound with just one heaved or cracked panel, we can often saw-cut and replace that section alone. If the base has failed more broadly, a full replacement is usually the better long-term investment. We'll give you an honest read during the estimate.
Stamped and decorative finishes typically add 20–40% over a standard broom-finish patio of the same size, depending on pattern complexity and color work. See our stamped concrete page for detail, or our cost guide for a broader pricing breakdown.
